Forum Update Number 24

Dear Resident / Residents' Group
First, we would like to thank the 35-odd individuals (plus two of our three of our local councillors) who attended our last Westbury Community Forum on 9 April, at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex, and for contributing to the discussions on matters of local interest.

The Westbury Parking Review
Our "Forum Update" readers may recall that last December's Update announced that the long-awaited Statutory Consultation for the Westbury Parking Review should commence in late January or early February. Unfortunately, this proved somewhat premature!
In order to avoid confusion, BCC thought it would be unwise to conduct the Statutory Consultation at the same time as the recent A4018 Consultation and, perhaps, that wasn't such a bad idea.
I have now been advised by BCC’s Area Manager (Local and Sustainable Transport) that the Consultation will commence on 2 May (yes, this year!) - so, keep your eyes peeled for any announcements.
Local residents may very well remember that in the far-off past - 2014 to be precise – the local Neighbourhood Partnership (NP3) funded a Parking Review for Westbury Village and its environs. This culminated in BCC’s Highways function publishing their original recommendations in May 2016, for new and revised parking restrictions to be taken forward to a Statutory Consultation, as the final link in the process for the requisite Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).

Reporting Issues to the Council

Most issues/problems can be raised directly with the Council online at www.bristol.gov.uk
Reporting online can get a quicker response than trying to phone as the reports go directly to the teams on the ground. Some of the most useful direct links are:
Fly Tipping
Park/Green Space Problems
A Street Issue
Suggest Improvements to Local Roads

If you have issues that can't be reported online, or where the Council is failing to resolve them, then you should contact the Westbury & Henleaze councillors, currently:
Geoff Gollop: Cllr.Geoffrey.Gollop@bristol.gov.uk
Liz Radford: Cllr.Liz.Radford@bristol.gov.uk
Steve Smith: Cllr.Steve.Smith@bristol.gov.uk
